We’re embarking on an exciting journey of creating our first independent Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan (PRC Master Plan) to help guide programs, amenities, facilities and services for the next 15 years. The PRC Master Plan is being developed with extensive engagement to create a community-led plan that enriches the heart of our community and reflects the future vision of Pitt Meadows parks, recreation, arts and culture.
The final Master Plan document was adopted by Council at the Council Meeting on November 23, 2021 and is available here. Parks, Recreation & Culture Master Plan has finished this stage
The City explored a background review of existing parks, recreation, arts and culture facilities and programs in Pitt Meadows including inventory and mapping of assets to help inform the Master Plan creation process.
Phase 2: Current State Analysis (fall - early winter 2020)
Parks, Recreation & Culture Master Plan has finished this stage
Service delivery review and benchmarking work is underway, including population and demographics analysis for the creation of a Current State Report.
Phase 3: Public Launch and Engagement (January – March 2021)
Parks, Recreation & Culture Master Plan has finished this stage
Community engagement will begin with residents for their parks, recreation, arts and culture vision. This will involve a household survey to all residents, user group questionnaires, stakeholder interviews and youth questionnaires. Engagement feedback will be summarized in a report.
Phase 4: Refining the Vision & Setting Direction (spring 2021)
Parks, Recreation & Culture Master Plan has finished this stage
The City will build upon the results of the public engagement with additional research and consultation with City Council, staff, and external partners.
Phase 5: Master Plan Development (May – November 2021)
Parks, Recreation & Culture Master Plan is currently at this stage
The draft Master Plan will be created, reviewed and refined, with the final Master Plan presented in November 2021.
